Wednesday’s English Blog 5

 Today on the 17th we read the poem “ I, Too” by Langston Hughes. This is one of my favorite poems that I have ever read. The metaphor for oppression and discrimination by using the imagery of a kitchen and dinning room was amazing. It really sets the scene and helps convey the situation to those who don’t understand. It doesn’t convey the severity of the situation but if you are educated about that time period it definitely does. This poem was also very empowering and beautifully written. I really enjoyed reading and discussing this poem today.

 Today we started a new project and I am not too excited about it. My job for this assignment is to find words that serve a strong purpose in the writing and I found it really hard to focus. I read through three pages but was unable to process what I had read. I also am not confident in some of my group members and the energy in my group is very passive. It really brought down my mood because the energy with some of my group mates was very negative.
